AINSWORTH SENTENCED -4/25/13 16:45 PMD

Maurice  ainsworth was sentenced today  (Thursday).  Ainsworth terrorized neighborhoods around santa cruz’s, domican hospital last march.    Ainsworth faked an illness in order to be transported to the hospital, to facilitate an escape attempt.   Once at the hospital he tased a deputy and obtained a firearm, which he held to a preschool teacher’s head.   Ainsworth was convicted of  39 counts and sentenced to 6 life sentences plus 138 years.

SCOTTS VALLEY DRUG TAKE BACK - 4/25/13 6:00a DMF

 

THE SCOTTS VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT,  IN COOPERATION WITH THE SANTA CRUZ COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION,  WILL HOLD A DRUG TAKE-BACK EVENT THIS SATURDAY.     THE EVENT RUNS FROM 10 A-M TO 2 P-M AT THE SCOTTS VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 1 CIVIC CENTER DRIVE.     THE SERVICE IS FREE AND ANONYMOUS AND AIMS TO PREVENT PILL ABUSE AND THEFT,  BY RIDDING HOMES OF POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS EXPIRED, UNUSED OR UNWANTED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.  This is just 1 of many such Take-Back events happening in the tri-county area this Saturday.

PAROLE VIOLATOR ARRESTED - 04/24/13 23:59 S.S.

A  30 YEAR-OLD  PAROLEE  WAS  ARRESTED  IN   SALINAS  THIS  WEEK,   FOR  VIOLATING   THE  TERMS  OF  HIS  PAROLE.    JAIME  PEREZ WAS  STOPPED FOR  A  VEHICLE  CODE  VIOLATION.     WHEN  STOPPED,   HE  WAS  FOUND TO  BE  IN  POSSESSION  OF METHAMPHETAMINE.    WHEN  A  PAROLE  SEARCH  WAS  CONDUCTED  AT  HIS  HOME,  SALINAS  POLICE  OFFICERS  FOUND  A  LOADED  GLOCK HANDGUN,  CASH,   MORE  METHAMPHETAMINE,  AND  GANG  INDICIA.       PEREZ  WAS  BOOKED  INTO  MONTEREY COUNTY  JAIL.

DENNIS THE MENACE TRAIN STAYS - 04/24/13 23:57 S.S.

DUE  TO  THE  APPROVAL  OF  A  3-PART  PLAN,  THE  STEAM  TRAIN  AT  DENNIS  THE MENACE  PARK IN  MONTEREY  WILL  STAY RIGHT WHERE  IT  IS.    ACCORDING  TO  THE  GROUP  KNOWN  AS  “SAVE  THE  TRAIN  AT  DENNIS THE MENACE  PARK”,   THE  MONTEREY PARKS  AND  RECREATION  DEPARTMENT PLANS  TO  MAKE  THE  TRAIN  ACCESSIBLE  TO  THE PUBLIC.    THE  STEAM  LOCOMOTIVE  HAD  A  CHAIN  LINK  FENCE  PUT  AROUND  IT  IN 2012,  AFTER  SEVERAL  CHILDREN  SUFFERED  INJURIES  (AFTER  THEY  FELL  FROM  THE  TRAIN).

A  MAN  HAS  BEEN  ARRESTED  FOR  EXPOSING  HIMSELF  TO FEMALE  STUDENTS  WALKING  ON  A  TRAIL  BEHIND  SOQUEL  HIGH  SCHOOL THIS  WEEK.    38  YEAR-OLD  WATSONVILLE  RESIDENT  SALVADOR  QUINONES WAS  POSITIVELY  IDENTIFIED  BY  THE  GIRLS.     HE  FACES  3  COUNTS  OF  INDECENT  EXPOSURE.
