U-C-S-C WAS THE SITE OF A MEETING OF BUSINESS AND PUBLIC LEADERS MONDAY.    THE EVENT WAS SPONSORED BY THE SANTA CRUZ BUSINESS COUNCIL.      IT WAS BILLED AS A WAY TO GET A DISCUSSION STARTED BETWEEN PEOPLE ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITIES, THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT WITH BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY, AS WELL AS THE UNIVERSITY.   ONE OF THE HOT TOPICS WAS U-C-S-C’S RECENT STATUS AS A PRODUCER OF TOP GAMING DEVELOPERS.

CLIFF VANDALS- 6/24/13- 19:45 PMD

AN UN SANCTIONED BEACH WEDDING LED CLIFFS BEING VANDALIZED.         A  WEDDING PARTY WENT TO THE LOCKED GATED BEACH PARK THAT IS OFF OF OPAL CLIFFS DRIVE.      ONE OF THE PARTIES HAD A KEY TO THE GATE, AND ASSURED THE SECURITY GUARD THE GROUP HAD OBTAINED PERMISSION TO HOLD A CEREMONY ON THE BEACH.        WHEN THE WEDDING WAS OVER THE BRIDE AND GROOMS FIRST NAMES REMAINED CARVED INTO THE CLIFF. THERE ARE  CONCERNS THAT IT IS GOING TO HASTEN EROSION OF THE CLIFF SURFACE AND  ENCOURAGE  OTHER VANDALS.

GROUPS OF PEOPLE GOT TO WORK OUT WITH A FITNESS CELEBRITY ON SUNDAY.      BILLY BANKS THE INVENTOR OF TAE BO, A CROSS BETWEEN MARTIAL ARTS AND AEROBICS WAS HOSTING FREE WORK OUTS FROM 11 A-M UNTIL 4P-M BY THE SANTA CRUZ BEACH BOARDWALK’S ARCADE ROOM.      AN ESTIMATED 2 THOUSAND  TAE BO ATHLETES TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SESSIONS THROUGH OUT THE DAY.

Felt street fatality- 6/24/13- 18:55 PMD

A SANTA CRUZ WOMAN WAS DECLARED DEAD AT THE SCENE OF A CAR WRECK IN LIVE OAK.     THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AT ABOUT 3:30 P-M ON THE 25 HUNDRED BLOCK OF FELT STREET.     A CAR LEFT THE ROAD AND WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND CRASHED.      FIRST RESPONDERS FOUND A 78-YEAR OLD WOMAN DECEASED AT THE SCENE.    IT APPEARS THAT A MEDICAL CRISIS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE INCIDENT. THE WOMAN’S NAME IS BEING WITHHELD PENDING NOTIFICATION OF FAMILY.

BODY IN CAR- 6/24/13- 18:25 PMD

A FIRE CREW DISCOVERED A BODY MONDAY MORNING.     THE FIRE MEN WERE WORKING IN THE SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS OFF OF SKYLINE BOULEVARD, WHEN THEY CAME ACROSS A FATAL CAR WRECK AT THE BOTTOM OF A CLIFF.      LAW ENFORCEMENT AND RECOVERY VEHICLES WERE DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE AT ABOUT 9:15 A-M.         AUTHORITIES BELIEVE THE CAR FAILED TO NEGOTIATE A TURN ON BIG BASIN WAY, SOMETIME LATE SUNDAY OR EARLY MONDAY MORNING.        THE ACCIDENT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
