MAN EXPOSES SELF -06/09/13 17:15 GE

A MAN ALLEGEDLY EXPOSED HIMSELF ON FRIDAY EVENING, TO A WOMAN AROUND 7:30 P-M, WHILE SHE WAS STOPPED  AT THE INTERSECTION OF GLENWOOD DRIVE AND MEADOW VIEW DRIVE  IN SCOTTS VALLEY. THE WOMAN GOT OUT OF HER VEHICLE AND GAVE CHASE, BUT LOST THE SIGHT OF THE MAN AT DEERFIELD DRIVE.      
RESPONDING OFFICERS WERE ALSO UNABLE TO LOCATE THE SUSPECT. HE IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE ADULT,    ABOUT 6 FEET TALL, BROWN HAIR, CLEAN-SHAVEN AND OF MEDIUM BUILD.  HE HAD ON ORANGE RUNNING SHORTS AND A WHITE T-SHIRT AT THE TIME.   ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE SEEN THIS PERSON IS ENCOURAGED TO CALL SGT. the live oak off leash advocates, or l-o-o-l-a,  is slated to be heard at tonight’s parks and recreation meeting.  the group is made up of passionate dog lovers and owners who feel that the majority of dog owners are resonsible when excersizing their pets. they have been circulating a petition to get their proposal ON TONIGHT’S agenda. l-o-o-l-a would like an area of 20th avenue beach, and between 20th and moran lake avenue made available for off-leash use. the hours of use proposed are sunrise to 10 a-m and 4 p-m til sunset. the meeting is at the simpkin swim center off of 17th avenue tonight at 7 p-m.

SEASIDE SHOOTING - 06/09/13 16:41 GE

 

A PEDESTRIAN WAS STRUCK BY SEVERAL ROUNDS OF GUNFIRE ON SATURDAY NIGHT, WHILE HE WAS WALKING ALONG THE 17 HUNDRED BLOCK OF KENNETH STREET IN SEASIDE.  POLICE ARRIVED TO FIND AN ADULT MALE, WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.  HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO AN UNKNOWN CENTER FOR TREATMENT. THE SHOOTING IS BELIEVED TO BE GANG-RELATED, AND ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION IS ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT THE SEASIDE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S ANONYMOUS TIP LINE AT 831-899-6282, OR CONTACT COMMANDER STRADAN AT 831-899-6748.

THE WATSONVILLE POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE IS FACING SHUT DOWN DUE TO CITY BUDGETARY RESTRAINTS.        GRANTS AND FUNDRAISERS CONTRIBUTE FUNDING TO THE P-A-L, HOWEVER, THE CITY OF WATSONVILLE SUPPORTS SALARIES AND OTHER EXPENSES.  ON SATURDAY, JUNE 15TH, THERE WILL BE A,  SAVE P-A-L” BARBEQUE, TO ATTEMPT TO RAISE MONEY FOR THIS WORTHWHILE CAUSE.  OVER 500 YOUTH,  AND A VARIETY OF SELF-ESTEEM ENHANCING PROGRAMS WILL BE AFFECTED POSITIVELY BY A SUCCESSFUL TURNOUT .  THE P-A-L IS A YOUTH CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM THAT BONDS TOGETHER POLICE OFFICERS, YOUTH AND PARENTS, AND A HOST OF LOCAL LEADERS.  TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED AT CASSIDY’S PIZZA, OR AT THE LOCAL P-A-L CENTER.

COSTCO VACCINE FREE- 6/9/13-15:28 PMD

the santa cruz costco has been administering free hepatitis a vaccinations to customers.   the free injections became available after a tainted food product was traced back to the store. as of last friday costco was out of the vaccine,but is reimbursing people for the cost of receiving the shot elsewhere. moreof the hepatitis a vaccine is expected earlythis week. if it is administered within 2 weeks of exposure it can prevent infection by the virus.
