A CARMEL BUSINESS HOSTED A BENEFIT FOR POLICE DOGS.  PET FOOD EXPRESS HELD THE PET WASHING EVENT ON SATURDAY.   PET OWNERS WHO PARTICPATED IN THE EVENT’S DONATIONS ARE PUT IN AN EQUIPMENT FUND FOR POLICE DOGS. EQUIPMENT NEEDS RANGE FROM CUSTOM BULLET PROOF VESTS,  OR LITTLE AIR CONDITIONERS FOR THE K-9 PATROL VEHICLES TO DOG SPECIFIC TRAUMA KITS.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY GANG TASK FORCE OFFICERS ARRESTED 4 WATSONVILLE MEN ON FRIDAY.  AT AROUND 10:30 P-M, OFFICERS PULLED OVER A SPEEDING CAR CONTAINING 4 KNOWN GANG MEMBERS. AS THE STOP WAS BEING MADE, A WATSONVILLE POLICE OFFICER ACTING AS BACK-UP, RECOVERED A LOADED 25 CALIBER HAND GUN THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE.  ROBERTO MEZA, PABLO RUIZ, ADAN VALERIO, AND DANIEL SANCHEZ WERE ALL BOOKED INTO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY JAIL, IN LIEU OF 25 THOUSAND DOLLARS BAIL, ON PAROLE, PROBATION, WEAPONS, AND GANG PARTICIPATION CHARGES.

Shellfish advisory lifted-7/13/13-1606-PMD

 

 

THE SHELL FISH ADVISORY FOR MONTEREY AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES HAS BEEN LIFTED.  IN APRIL THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUED A WARNING CONCERNING HIGH LEVELS OF, THE NERVE TOXIN, DOMOIC ACID IN LOCAL BI-VALVE SHELLFISH POPULATIONS.  THE AGENCY NOW STATES THAT RECENT TESTINGS IN THE MONTEREY BAY HAVE SHOWN THAT LEVELS OF THE POTENTIONALLY FATAL TOXIN HAVE DROPPED INTO THE RANGE  WHICH MAKES THEM SAFE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.

AROMAS CHILD MLSTR PLDS GLTY-7/13/13-1606-PMD

 

AN AROMAS MAN ENTERTED A PLEA IN A MONTEREY COUNTY COURTROOM ON FRIDAY.   38 YEAR OLD LORENZO LEDESMA HAD BEEN CHARGED WITH OVER 20 COUNTS OF SEX OFFENSES IN THE MOLESTATION OF 2 GIRLS.  1 OF THE GIRLS SUFFERED ABUSE FROM THE TIME SHE WAS 5 UNTIL SHE WAS 16 YEARS OLD.   LEDESMA PLEADED GUILTY TO ALL CHARGES AND A FELONY BURGLARY, HE IS DUE BACK IN COURT ON AUGUST 28TH FOR SENTENCING.

A CONTRA COSTA COUNTY MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED ON FELONY BURGLARY CHARGES.   SANTA CRUZ COUNTY INVESTIGATORS COLLECTED D-N-A EVIDENCE  AT A BURGLARY SCENE ON THE 21 THOUSAND BLOCK OF STAGECOACH ROAD LAST YEAR. ON THURSDAY,  20 YEAR OLD JEREMY WILLIAMS WAS TAKEN IN TO CUSTODY IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY ON FELONY BURGLARY CHARGES AFTER THE NATIONAL D-N-A DATA BASE LINKED HIM TO THE CRIME.
