MISSING PERSON RESCUE - 05/28/11 00:11 S.S.

A  28  YEAR-OLD  HIKER  WAS  FOUND  THIS  AFTERNOON  AT  ANO  NUEVO  STATE  PARK.  THAT  AFTER  HIS  RELATIVES  REPORTED  THAT  HE  HAD  GONE  HIKING AND  HAD  NOT RETURNED  WHEN  EXPECTED.   HE  TOLD  RESCUERS  THAT  HE  HAD  GONE  HIKING  AND  GOTTEN  DISORIENTED,  AND  DECIDED  TO  SLEEP  FOR  THE  NIGHT  AND  FIND  HIS  WAY  OUT IN  THE  DAYLIGHT.   

RESCUERS  SAID  THEY  WANTED  TO  THANK  LOCAL  RESIDENTS (WHO  GAVE  THEM  USEFUL  INFORMATION  ABOUT  THE  AREA)  WHICH  IS  VERY  CLOSE  TO THE  SANTA  CRUZ-SAN  MATEO  COUNTY  LINE.

TEEN RESCUED NR NATURAL BRIDGES - 05/28/11 23:48 S.S.

AN  18  YEAR-OLD  WAS  RESCUED  FRIDAY  AFTERNOON,  AFTER  HE  FOUND  HE  WAS  UNABLE  TO  CLIMB  DOWN  FROM  PINNACLE  ROCK  (NEAR  NATURAL  BRIDGES  STATE  PARK).      SANTA  CRUZ  FIREFIGHTERS  AND  RANGERS  WORKED  TOGETHER  TO  BRING  THE  TEEN  SAFELY  BACK  TO  THE  BEACH.

FIRE IN NURSING FACILITY - 05/28/11 23:30 S.S.

2  DOZEN  PEOPLE  WERE  EVACUATED  FOR  A  TIME  THIS  EVENING  FROM  A  MONTEREY  NURSING  FACILITY.     THAT  AFTER  A  COMMERCIAL  DRYER  CAUGHT  FIRE THERE.    THE  JUST  BEFORE  6  P.M.  INCIDENT  OCCURRED  ON  THE  15  HUNDRED  BLOCK  OF  SKYLINE  DRIVE.

CRASH VICTIM ID RELEASED 05/27/11 5:30 p.m.. TDH

MONTEREY COUNTY AUTHORITIES HAVE ANNOUNCED THE IDENTITY OF A WOMAN WHO DIED AFTER CRASHING HER CAR IN CARMEL YESTERDAY.   92-YEAR-OLD MILDRED FERGUSON LOST CONTROL OF HER CAR, WHILE DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON OUTLOOK DRIVE.   THE VEHICLE WENT OFF THE ROAD, AND ROLLED DOWN A 75-FOOT-EMBANKMENT.   SHE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.

Fire Out in P.G. 05/27/11 05:15p.m. TDH

A small fire was extinguished today in pacific grove.  The flames charred a plot about 100 square feet large, near rip van winkle park on congress street.  Fire fighters from Monterey count and pebble beach fire departments responded to the 4 p.m. fire.   The cause is being investigated.
