Now that the state’s regional Stay-At-Home order has been lifted, which businesses can (and cannot) re-open is largely controlled by the county’s tier level, or county officials. County officials can make more constrictive rulings than what the tier level allows for, but they cannot loosen the tier restrictions. Santa Cruz, Monterey, And San Benito county officials have all chosen to return to the state’s tier system. All 3 are currently in the purple tier, in which the following are allowed: personal care services at barber shops, nail salons, tattoo shops to operate at limited capacity for indoor operations. Restaurants can also operate with limited indoor dining as an option.
Wineries can operate outdoors while bars still need to remain closed.
People are still being asked not to go more than 120 miles from home, even though the Stay-At-Home order was lifted.

Precipitation is continuing in the Santa Cruz and Monterey areas, and could cause Debris Flows even though most areas made it safely through last night. The current rainfall could add 3-6 more inches to the Big Sur coast totals for this storm system, while adding another 2+ inches in Santa Cruz county. People who already evacuated are encouraged to stay away tonight too, and those who chose to stay home are encouraged to evacuate. In Santa Cruz county, large animals can once again be taken to the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds.
