Montage Covid 19 Vaccinations-2/1/21-1735-PMD

Montage Health in Monterey County has announced 2 more COVID-19 vaccination clinics. The clinics will be open for members of the public who are eligible to receive one. The vaccination clinics will be open February 4th and 5th at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and at the Montage Wellness Center in Marina.

Monterey Armed Robbery-2/1/21-1716-PMD

Monterey police are investigating an armed robbery. Shortly before 8 p-m on Sunday patrol units responded to reports of an armed robbery on the 4 hundred block of Lighthouse Avenue. Police are looking for 2 black males in their twenties that robbed the business at gunpoint. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Monterey police department.

Los Padres Restrictions Lifted-2/1/21-1639-PMD

The U.S. Forest Service has lifted restrictions at the Los Padres National Forest. The park has now had enough rain for fire restrictions to be reduced. Campfires and charcoal barbecues will now be allowed in the forest. California Campfire Permit will be required to build a campfire outside of a designated site. All flammable material must be cleared within five feet of the fires in all directions, and visitors are asked to have a shovel available to prepare and extinguish the fire. The fire must be supervised at all times.

Salinas Recovery Center-2/1/21-1619-PMD

A Salinas drug and alcohol treatment program will receive federal funding.  Sun Street Centers is receiving nearly 50 thousand dollars in funding to support its education and addiction treatment services. Sun Street Centers strives to prevent drug and alcohol addiction and help with treatment and recovery. The organization offers sober living environments, life skills classes, responsible beverage service training, counseling and other services.

SBC Vaccination Allegations 02.01.2021 0640 5 JS

A San Benito County health clinic is under investigation following allegations of vaccine distribution for those who are not eligible to receive them under current state guidelines.

The clinic involved is San Benito Health foundation in Hollister, where they reportedly put some ahead of others waiting to get the vaccine.

An executive for the clinic states that they follow tiers set by the state and that some complaints were from members ofs the community noticing rotary members from San Juan Bautista getting vaccinated ahead of others.

While the investigation continues, over 100 doses will remain withheld that were going to be sent this week for the clinic.
