“Connect4Good” new Monterey Do-Good Project 02-02-21 22:15 DC

There’s a new Santa Cruz website called "Connect 4 good” and the idea for it came about as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, from students stuck at home itching to volunteer in the community.

The new website provides do-good opportunities without having to leave home.

Salinas High School students created and designed the website. They have partnered with half a dozen Monterey county nonprofits. An easy link lets you know how you can help from home.

“So it’s things like making treats for horses at the equine center, making blankets for the homeless, decorating bags and boxes for the homeless when they're picking up meals at Dorothy's Place, all things you can do from home,” said Jackie Scott, mentor to the students.

The Salinas High students said they’re passionate about community service, their actions now making it a whole lot easier for others to do the same.
