Teachers are part of the phase 1b vaccine tier and now local district officials hope classes can resume in mid-March. By the end of this week, school officials expect that 1,500 teachers will have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Preschool and kindergarten teachers received their vaccines first, with elementary school teachers in line to receive them this weekend. The school district's goal is for hybrid-in person learning and remote learning by next month.

Highway 1 - Repairs Continue 02-12-21 03:46 S.S.

Crews continue to work on clearing drainage culverts, removing debris, and making guard rail repairs at 60 locations on Highway 1 south of Big Sur....and they are still assessing the best plan for the 150 washout at Rat Creek. Cal-Trans crews are likely to either fill the chasm and re-build over the top of it, or build a bridge across the gap. Had it not been for the Debris Flow from the Dolan Fire, the culvert at Rat Creek was likely to have been able to properly handle the amount of rain that occurred during the recent Atmospheric River.
