4 Arr in 2017 Shooting 02-14-21 20:31 S.S.

A 4th man has now been arrested in connection with a 2017 fatal shooting that took place in Salinas. The most recent arrest was yesterday (Saturday), when 25 year-old Joseph Garcia was picked up on the 300 block of West Acacia Street. He has now joined 27 year-old Ryan Meza, 24-year-old Siaki Tavale and 29-year-old Mark Garcia in custody. The 4 are accused of shooting 4 people January 12th of 2017....while they were all on the 500 block of Sunrise Street.

2 men were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other 2 survived.

State Map Of Schools 02-14-21 05:42 S.S.

A map was posted on-line Friday that shows the planned re-opening status of public, charter, and private K-6th grade schools. Since school districts are supposed to report their re-opening status every 2 Mondays starting back on January 25th, this map is designed to help school staff and families make informed decisions as they relate to in-person instruction....including safety planning and Covid-19 "supports".
The California Department of Public Health also plans to add other key data, such as where and when outbreaks are reported.

CDC -Listeria Outbreak 02-14-21 02:56 S.S.

3 Hispanic-style Fresh and soft cheeses have been connected with an outbreak of Listeria. Although a soecific type and brand has not yet been determined, the CDC jhas issued a preliminary warning about Queso Fresco, Queso Blanco and Queso Panela. Listeria is a germ that can cause a serious infection called listeriosis, and the CDC says people usually become ill after eating contaminated food. Some of the symptoms can be: headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, fever, muscle aches and convulsions.

Man Arr In Big Sur 02-14-21 02:43 S.S.

A man was arrested in front of the Big Sur Post Office. 53 year-old David Maloof, who was living out of his vehicle down in Big Sur, was found in possession of child pornography....after local authorities were tipped-off about the contraband. Maloof was booked into Monterey County Jail.
