 Salinas Playgrounds 2 Open?-2/15/21-1526-PMD

The City of Salinas is considering reopening city parks. Playgrounds have been closed for most of the COVID-19 pandemic.  City maintenance does not have the resources to maintain the parks so the facilities would be opened in a use at your own risk basis. The issue will be voted on during Tuesday’s council meeting.

Seaside Asks Co 4 Vaccine-2/15/21-1633-PMD

Seaside has sent a letter to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors requesting more vaccines. Seaside’s Mayor Ian says that Seaside has a need for the vaccine due to higher numbers of infections in the city. In the proposal firefighters would administer the vaccines.

Salinas Rodeo Tour-2/15/21-1629-PMD

A rodeo event is scheduled to be held in Salinas later this year.The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association plans to hold the ProRodeo Tour Finale at the California Rodeo grounds in Salinas September 26th through the 30th, when participants will compete for a half million dollars in prize money.

M0Co Dispatch Buys Bike-2/15/21-1627-PMD

Monterey County dispatchers surprised a 12 year old theft victim in Salinas. That after a girl had her birthday present bicycle stolen from outside a store on Friday. The dispatchers found out about the theft and bought the girl an identical replacement bicycle.

Sun. Shooting In Wville 02-14-21 20:42 S.S.

1 person was hospitalized, and another only suffered minor injuries, after the 2 were shot while inside a vehicle in Watsonville tonight (Sunday). The shooting took place near the intersection of Green Valley and Dutchman Roads. Anyone with information about this shooting is encouraged to contact the Watsonville Police Department.
