Chowder & Burger Weeks 02-17-21 03:33 S.S.

This week the 40th Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook-Off Re-Imagined is taking place in Santa Cruz county, and next week it will be time for the 5th Annual Burger Week.  This week numerous restaurants around the county are cooking their versions of Boston (also know as White) Clam Chowder in part as a fundraiser for the Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department.  As usual, people can purchase tickets, but this time instead of standing on numerous very long lines at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, people can go to each restaurant in the listings, get their clam chowder, and then go on-line to file their People's Choice Awards.  Next week's Burger Week is actually a Nationwide event, in which participating restaurants may offer one or more specially priced burgers. More information can be found on-line at the Santa Cruz Burger Week website, with the complete list posted by February 23rd.
