BC Reindeer Run To Take Place 12-16-20 08:57 S.S.

The Boulder Creek Reindeer Run is still scheduled to be held this year. There’s a 15 dollar entry fee for the annual fundraiser for Boulder Creek Parks And Rec. Children can run for free. Due to Covid-19 safety concerns, this year’s 5k costumed run will have 10 time slots each day between December 23rd, and 27th....with a maximum of 30 participants per slot. The race starts and ends at The Tree House Cafe on Main Street, with Camp Joy as the turnaround point. Irwin Way, which is part of the course, features a slight incline. People can register to take part in the fundraiser at: bcrpd.org

Drug Trafficking Arr 12-16-20A 08:43 S.S.

A  drug  trafficking  arrest  has  been  made in  Santa  Cruz  county.    That  after  multiple  search  warrants  were  served,  and  officers  discovered  12  pounds  of  heroin,  one  pound  of  methamphetamine,  and  a  loaded  firearm.  Aptos  resident  Mario  Villasenor  was  arrested  and  faces  possible  charges  related  to  felony  drug  trafficking.

2 Gang Members Arr 12-16-20A 07:58 S.S.

2 active gang members were arrested on gun charges this week. That after a vehicle with non-working brakelights was stopped in Salinas. When the officer asked to see the 17 year-old’s license and registration, the teen opened the glovebox exposing a loaded hand gun. The driver and a 23 year-old passenger were arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail.

Fatal Crash In Wville Tues. 12-16-20A 07:21 S.S.

A 42 year-old pedestrian suffered fatal injuries when he was hit by a vehicle early yesterday morning in Watsonville. The accident took place on the 14-hundred block of Beach Street when the pedestrian was pushing a cart of recyclables around 1:30 a.m. The 22 year-old driver (who stayed at the scene, and cooperated with the investigation) said he didn’t see the man until it was too late.
