Flavored Tobacco Delay 12-29-20 17:04 S.S.

A  law  that had  been  scheduled  to  go  into  effect  January  first  has  been  delayed.   That after  opponents  to  the  ban  on  flavored  tobacco  have  gathered  enough  signatures  to  put  the  new  law  to  a  statewide  vote.   The  law  won’t  be  enforced  while  county  clerks  work  to  determine  if  there  are  at  least  623  thousand  valid  signatures.   The  ban  would  not  make  it  a crime  for  people  to  have  flavored  tobacco...however,  it  would  make  it  a  crime  for  retailers  to  sell  flavored  tobacco.   Violators  would  face  a  250  dollar  fine.

As  anticipated,   the  state  is  extending  the  current  stay-at-home  order  for  the  Southern  California  and  San  Joaquin  Valley  regions.  At  this  time,  in both of those Regions, I.C.U. capacity has been at 0% for several days....and  based  on  data  it  does  not  look   as  though  their  I.C.U.  beds  will  exceed  the  15  percent  needed  to  move  to  a  better tier within the next several weeks.
