A local historian, who archived thousands of historical images of the Monterey Bay area, died this past week at his home in Pacific Grove. Copies of many of the pictures of Monterey, Pacific Grove, Salinas and Carmel (and other cities and towns in California)....that Pat Hathaway gathered....hang in businesses, educational institutions, and homes all over the world. Although the exact number in his collection is currently unknown, he had more than 80-thousand images back in 2009, and is believed to have gathered more since then.
A local librarian said that back when Hathaway first began collecting photographs and negatives, libraries were not able to gather photo collections, so Hathaway's collection is priceless.....and other local historians say that many images in Hathaway's collection are unique.
Pat Hathway had no known relatives, and while the images he gathered are dispersed globally, much of the information about them died with him.

The project is designed to promote the construction of A.D.U.s, and to give people an idea of several different types of A.D.U.s
