New Housing Soon – P.O.M. 01-12-21 08:13 S.S.

The  ground  is  expected  to  be  broken  soon  for  new  housing  at  the  Presidio  Of  Monterey.    The  100  new  homes  will  be  built  at  the  intersection  of  Monterey  and  Luzon  Roads  in  the  Lower  Stillwell  Community  and will  be  for  junior  enlisted  families  from  all  service  branches.  The new community will  include  a  new  Community  Park,  a  Fitness  Trail,  and  a  Bike  Park.    It  will  be  the first  all-electric  subdivision  in  the  Ord  Community,  and  is  designed  to  meet  L.E.E.D.  Silver  Standards.

AS  OF  WHAT WAS  POSTED  YESTERDAY,   THE  LATEST  NUMBERS  OF  CASES  OF  COVID-19  ON  THE  CENTRAL  COAST  ARE:

 

  • IN MONTEREY  COUNTY, 242  PEOPLE  HAVE  DIED,  207  ARE  CURRENTLY  HOSPITALIZED AND  26  ARE  IN  THE  I-C-U.

 

  • IN SANTA CRUZ  COUNTY,   106  PEOPLE  HAVE  DIED,  69  PEOPLE  ARE  CURRENTLY  HOSPITALIZED,  AND  13  OF  THOSE  ARE  IN THE  I-C-U. 

 

  • IN SAN  BENITO  COUNTY,  39  PEOPLE  HAVE  DIED  AND  THERE  ARE  613  ACTIVE  CASES  IN  THE      19  PEOPLE  ARE  HOSPITALIZED,  WITH  6  OF  THOSE  IN  THE  I.C.U.

Levi Stadium-1/11/21-1838-PMD

The president of the San Francisco 49ers is offering the use of Levi Stadium. In a letter to the Santa Clara County board of supervisors, 49ers President Al Guido offered up the facility for use as a possible site for mass vaccinations. The offer comes as medical officials continue to try to stem the rising infection rates.

Hazel Hawkins-1/11/21-1652-1652-PMD

Due to a surge in covid 19 cases,  Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in San Benito County is increasing bed capacity. The hospital’s covid patients now occupy 61 percent of the beds. The hospital has added 3 more ICU beds, an increase of 92 percent, as well as 21 beds on the Medical/Surgical unit. San Benito County is part of the San Joaquin Valley region, which currently has 0% ICU in reserve.

Sea Otter Classic Postponed-1/11/21-1654-PMD

The Sea Otter Classic bicycling event has been postponed. The event had been initially scheduled for May. Event organizers citing concerns over the pandemic have now postponed the 2021 event until October 7th through the 10th. Last years event was cancelled gue to the pandemic.
