Chase Ends In SC 01-19-21 07:21 S.S.

A  34  year-old  woman  was  arrested  yesterday  in  Santa  Cruz, after  she  stole  a  van  with  an  elderly  person  lying  in  the  back  seat.      The  van  was  stolen  outside  a  dialysis  center  in  San Jose,  and  the  chase  that  ensued  did not end until the woman finally stopped on water street in  Santa Cruz.

Monterey Beach Contaminted-1/18/21-1751-PMD

A Monterey beach has been closed due to a possible contamination. The Monterey County Health Department has closed Del Monte Beach until further notice. The closure is from Wharf 2 to Window on the Bay. The beach will remain closed while the health department determines whether the water is safe for human contact.

San Mateo Co Teen-1/18/21-1737-PMD

A water rescue was underway at a San Mateo County beach yesterday. At about 5 p-m rescuers arrived at Cowell State Beach to reports of two people swept out to sea. An adult was pulled from the surf. At this time rescuers are still searching for a 13 0r 14 year old boy. The two were swept off the beach by a large wave while watching the surf.

SC Boardwalk Gated-1/18/21-1717-PMD

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is gating the walk way to encourage social distancing. January operations have been suspended as a result of the regional stay at home order.  It is the longest non operational period at the Boardwalk in its 113-year existence.

So Mo Co Rescue-1/18/21-1647-PMD

Emergency personnel rescued a driver and his canine passenger in South Monterey County. The incident took place about 8 a-m on Sunday when a male driver called 911 after going over a cliff on Highway 198. A helicopter was used to locate the crash. Rescuers then used the Jaws of life to recue the driver and his dog. The driver was transported to a trauma center with major injuries. The dog was uninjured.
