4 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED ON NARCOTICS-RELATED CHARGES IN SANTA CRUZ THIS MORNING. THAT AFTER A SEARCH WARRANT WAS SERVED AT A SPRUCE STREET HOME. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FOUND NEEDLES, PIPES, AND PACKAGING MATERIALS, AS WELL AS A FAKE HANDGUN, SOME HEROIN, AND SOME MARIJUANA. ROGER GOLDEN, JAY PRICE, DEBBIE STICKLEY, AND SUSAN WILHITE WERE BOOKED INTO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY JAIL.

3 MORGAN HILL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MORGAN HILL UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT. AT ISSUE IS THE CINCO DE MAYO INCIDENT AT LIVE OAK HIGH SCHOOL IN WHICH THE STUDENTS WERE TOLD TO REMOVE THEIR AMERICAN FLAG T-SHIRTS.
THE STUDENTS WERE LATER TOLD THE SHIRTS COULD INCITE VIOLENCE, HOWEVER “CALIFORNIA LAW GRANTS STUDENTS THE RIGHTS TO EXERCISE FREEDOM OF SPEECH BY WEARING BUTTONS, BADGES, AND OTHER INSIGNIA”….BECAUSE AS “THEY DO NOT SHED THEIR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS AT THE SCHOOLHOUSE GATES”.

3 of the largest city workers unions in San Jose have rejected a proposal by city officials to 10 percent pay cuts. Now that the proposal has been denied, the San Jose City Council is prepared to pass a budget that would include hundreds of layoffs, to take effect August 1st. 229 police and fire positions as well as 136 civilian jobs are set to be eliminated with the proposed budget.

A Marina man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to break into several cars in a parking lot earlier this morning. 20 year-old Jacob Simpson-Barnes was witnessed trying to open the doors of several cars in the parking lot of a Marina apartment complex. Simpson-Barnes was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail on charges of grand theft, possesion of stolen property and violation of probation.
