MONTEREY CITY APPROVES NEW TRAFFIC PLAN 07-20-10 09:00 a.v.

A vote was unanimously approved last night by Monterey City council members on a traffic plan that is expected to bring an economic boost into city coffers. The new plan, which was selected from 3 possibilities, is expected to make the city’s center more accessible to tourists. According to city planners, the maze of 1-way streets was steering traffic away from the downtown area, thus dissuading visitors to the area. The new design plan is expected to revitalize and develop road ways in the downtown and waterfront areas.
