2-Salinas Homicides 8/1/10 11:15 p.m. TDH

2-homicides were recorded in Salinas on Friday evening, marking the 3rd and 4th murders in the city in 2-days.  The latest violence comes after 2-teenagers were killed on Wednesday night.   The first homicide on Friday occurred at 5:30 p.m., as the victim stood in a front yard on the 12-hundred block of 1st street.   A red S.U.V. pulled over to the man, and an argument ensued, before the S.U.V. drove away and fired several shots from the moving vehicle.  The victim was stuck in the upper torso, and died at the scene.  The second shooting death occurred on the 1-thousand block of Partridge Street, at 7:40 p.m.   An unknown gunman approached the 18-year-old victim, and shot him multiple times.   He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  A second victim was also shot, and was treated and released. And 2-more people were injured in a 3rd Friday night shooting.   Multiple shots were fired at a car on Dennis Avenue at 9 p.m.  1-victim suffered injuries that are life-threatening, the other is expected to survive.  No arrests have been made in any of the incidents.

King City Shooting 8/1/10 11:15 p.m. TDH

A 13-year-old King City boy was shot on Friday in what police believe was a drive by-shooting.  The victim was struck once, as he stood outside his house on the 900-block of King City's Broadway Street.   He was taken to local hospital, where he was treated and released.  The shooter has not been caught, however police believe the suspect was driving a black, Honda Civic hatchback, possibly with a license plate ending with 9-7-7.  The shooting is being investigated as gang-related.

ARREST MADE IN CONNECTION WITH BODY FOUND AT SOQUEL HIGH 08/01/10 18:01 S.S.

A  44  YEAR-OLD  MAN  HAS  BEEN  ARRESTED  IN  CONNECTION  WITH  THE  BODY  FOUND  FRIDAY  IN  A  CAR  AT  SOQUEL  HIGH  SCHOOL.  SANTA  CRUZ  COUNTY  RESIDENT   FEDERICO  LOZOYA  CASTILLO IS  BELIEVED  TO   HAVE  KILLED  34  YEAR-OLD JUAN CARLOS  GARCIA ELSEWHERE,  AND  THEN  DEPOSITED  HIS  BODY  IN A  CAR  IN THE  SCHOOL'S  PARKING  LOT.   CASTILLO WAS  BOOKED  INTO  SANTA  CRUZ  COUNTY  JAIL ON  1  MILLION  DOLLARS  BAIL.

Fatal Motorcycle crash 7/30/10 TDH

A Los Gatos man died last night(thurs) on highway-17, after crashing his motorcycle.  The 31-year-old driver lost control of his bike south of Redwood Estates, as he traveled northbound on highway-17.   The motorcycle hit the center divider, causing the man to be ejected.   He was pronounced dead at the scene, his identity has not yet been released.

Soledad arrest 7/30/10 TDH

Authorities in soledad have announced that they arrested a man last week, for impersonating a peace officer. 26-year-old fidel castro aguilar was taken into custody on the 100-block of soledad’s market street, after officers noticed his ford crown victoria.  The car, which is the model used by police and california highway patrol officers, was modified with reverse-blue-lights, decals that said “police interceptor,” spot lights, and other equipment similar to that used by authorities.  Aguilar was booked into monterey county jail on suspicion of impersonating a peace officer.
