TRAIL SET FOR ARMED FORCES ASSAULT 08-02-10 11:00 a.v.

A former Pacific Grove resident faces up to 4-years in prison after striking a 20-year old servicewoman in the head with a beer bottle last month. 20-year old Tyler Tirado was among 10 to 20 locals who engaged in a verbal altercation with a similar sized group of Defense Language Institute students at Asilomar Beach just before midnight on July 13th. Tirado, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, will be arraigned on 2 felony counts of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, and assaulting a member of the armed forces.

McDOUGAL SENTENCED - 08/02/10 17:56 S.S.

A  53  YEAR-OLD  BOULDER  CREEK  MAN  WAS  SENTENCED  THIS  MORNING.      THAT  AFTER  RONALD  McDOUGAL PLEADED  GUILTY  TO  SEXUALLY  ABUSING  A  FEMALE  TEENAGER  HE  KNEW.       BASED  ON  CURRENT LAWS, McDOUGAL WILL  HAVE  TO  SERVE  AT  LEAST  15  YEARS  (OF  HIS  NEARLY  18-YEAR  SENTENCE),    BEFORE  HE  IS  ELIGIBLE  FOR  PAROLE.

McDOUGAL’S WIFE  FACES  A  SENTENCE  OF  UP  TO  3  YEARS  IN  PRISON  WHEN  SHE  RETURNS  TO  COURT NEXT  MONTH.   THAT’S  BECAUSE  SHE  FAILED  TO  REMOVE  THE  CHILD  FROM  AN  ABUSIVE  SITUATION.

HWY 101 5-CAR CRASH 08-02-10 10:00 a.v.

A 5-vehicle crash occurred yesterday in North Monterey County after a man driving under the influence was arrested while 4 others were hospitalized. The just after 4 p.m. crash took place on Highway-101 in the Royal Oaks area, as the driver of an eastbound pick-up lost control of his vehicle on San Juan Road. The 5-car pile up caused the southbound lanes of 101, and both lanes of San Juan Road, to be blocked for several hours while the roadway was cleared.

SOQUEL MURDER CASE - update - 08/02/10 16:51 S.S.

THE  MAN,   WHO  IS  BELIEVED  TO  HAVE  SHOT  AND  KILLED  HIS  DRUG  DEALER  LAST  WEEK,  AND  THEN  LEFT  THE  BODY  IN  A  CAR  AT  SOQUEL  HIGH  SCHOOL,   WAS  ACQUITTED  OF  FATALLY  SHOOTING   HIS  BEST FRIEND  MORE  THAN  20 YEARS  AGO.       44  YEAR-OLD  FEDERICO  LOZOYA   CASTILLO WAS  ARRESTED  SATURDAY  AT  HIS  CLARES  STREET HOME  IN  CAPITOLA.       SANTA  CRUZ COUNTY  SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES   ARE  STILL  INVESTIGATING  THIS  MURDER.

A  52  YEAR-OLD   WATSONVILLE   MAN  HAS  BEEN  SENTENCED  TO  3  YEARS  IN  PRISON.       RUDOLFO  MARTINEZ  APOLINAR CONFESSED  (AND  PLEADED  GUILTY)  TO    FONDLING  A  TEENAGER.       APOLINAR,  WHO  WAS  ALREADY  A  REGISTERED  SEX  OFFENDER,  HAD  REPORTEDLY  BEEN  CONVICTED  OF  REPEATED  ACTS  OF  INDECENT  EXPOSURE  AND  PUBLIC  MASTURBATION  IN  THE  PAST.
