The Amgen Tour of California won’t be stopping in Santa Cruz next year, though it is possible riders could still pass through the city. Santa Cruz officials informed the Tour’s organizers last week, that the city will not host a stop next year. Capitola city leaders are considering filling the role, and are set to consider the matter on September 8th. After losing money on the effort in 2009, Santa Cruz did gain 10-thousand dollars from the race this year. However, facing employee furloughs and other uncertainties, city officials declined to host the stage 3 finish in 2011.
