A Washington man has pled guilty to cyber stalking 12-hundred people, including a Monterey woman. 32 year-old Daniel Leonard is accused of making threatening and harassing phone calls using a computerized voice to victims in the United States and Canada. Monterey police have been investigating Leonard since August of 2009. Leonard faces up to 5 years in jail if convicted.
A MAN SUFFERED BACK AND HEAD INJURIES YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AFTER HE DOVE INTO THE SURF FROM WEST CLIFF DRIVE IN SANTA CRUZ. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AROUND 1:15 P.M., AND THE INJURED MAN WAS TRANSPORTED TO DOMINICAN HOSPITAL.
AN APTOS MAN PLEADED GUILTY YESTERDAY TO SHOOTING AT AN 18 YEAR-OLD MAN BACK IN 2008. ABISAI NATANEL ELISONDO SAID HE SHOT AT SOQUEL HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL STAR DAVID CROSS IN MARCH OF 2008, AS CROSS STOOD IN FRONT OF HIS THURBER LANE HOME. CROSS WAS INJURED IN THE DRIVE-BY SHOOTING, WHICH WAS APPARENTLY AN ACT OF RETALIATION (FOR AN EARLIER FISTFIGHT IN SOQUEL VILLAGE). ELISONDO COULD FACE 25 YEARS BEHIND BARS.
A big rig and a car were involved in an accident near Gonzales this afternoon. The 1 p.m. minor injury incident occurred on southbound Highway 101 at 5th street. 1 PERSON WAS TRANSPORTED TO AN AREA HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT.
A pedestrian was hit and killed while on green valley road in Watsonville tonight. The 31 year-old man was walking near the convenience store at Minto Road around 7:45 p.m. when he was hit. Anyone who witnessed this fatal accident is encouraged to contact the Watsonville Police Department.
Green Valley Road was closed in that area for several hours, as the incident was investigated.
