SALINAS OFFICER TO STAND TRIAL 10-31-10 21:00 a.v.

A Salinas police officer, accused of lewd acts with a minor, has been ordered to stand trial. A Monterey County Court judged ruled Friday that enough evidence was found against 44-year old Lance M. Mosher, who was arrested in September for allegations of sexually assaulting a 12-year old girl. Mosher, who is accused of committing the crimes in 2007, is slated to appear in court again on November 17th. If convicted of all the charges, Mosher faces a maximum penalty of 12-years in prison

SALINAS 14 Y/O SHOT 10-31-10 20:50 a.v.

A 14-year old Salinas boy was hospitalized after suffering from a gunshot wound Saturday. The victim, who was a reported Sureno gang member, was sitting on a bench at Closter Park, when a passenger in a reported black Acura, Honda or Lincoln Town car with tinted windows, fired multiple shots at him. The victim, who suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg, is expected to survive.

AROMAS MOTORCYCLE COLLISION 10-31-10 20:40 a.v.

A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a collision occurred with another vehicle in North Monterey County Saturday. The crash took place at 7:15 p.m. near Aromas at San Juan Grade and Murphy Roads. The man was air lifted to a San Jose hospital, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

GILROY FATAL CAR CRASH 10-31-10 20:25 a.v.

Police in Gilroy are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred early this morning (sun). Police say the only occupant found inside the vehicle, died after crashing into a tree on the 7900 block of Arroyo Circle at around 3 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation along with whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

DOWNTOWN S.C. ROBBERIES ARREST 10-31-10 19:35 a.v.

A 20-year old Los Gatos man was taken into custody after 2 separate armed robberies took place in downtown Santa Cruz today. The 1st robbery on the 1400 block of Ocean Street, occurred when the suspect entered the Ferrell’s Donuts just before 6 p.m., brandished a knife then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The same man later entered the Best Western Inn on Plymouth Street and also demanded cash at knifepoint. Police are searching a possible 2nd suspect involved in the robberies.
