Boulder Creek Lotto Win 11/02/10 0800 E.A.

A Boulder Creek man has won nearly 5-hundred-thousand dollars in the California Lottery Draw last week. William Suter matched 5 of the 6 numbers on a 2 dollar Mega Millions Quick Pick ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at the Mountain Store in Boulder Creek. Suter plans on taking his family to Disneyland.

The  ANNUAL  STATEWIDE  QUARANTINE  OF  SPORT-HARVESTED  MUSSELS HAS  BEEN  LIFTED.      THAT’S  BECAUSE  TESTS  SHOW  THAT  DOMOIC  ACID (AND  SOME OTHER  TOXINS)   ARE  AT  SAFE  OR  UNDETECTABLE  LEVELS  IN  MUSSELS  ALONG  THE  CENTRAL  COAST.      A  QUARANTINE  ON  OTHER  SHELLFISH,    CERTAIN  CRUSTACEANS,    AND  SMALL  FINFISH NEAR  the  CHANNEL  ISLANDS REMAINS  IN  PLACE,    DUE  TO  ELEVATED  LEVELS  OF  DOMOIC  ACID.    THAT  WARNING  DOES  NOT  APPLY  TO  COMMERCIALLY  SOLD  FISH  AND  SEAFOOD.

STARTING  TOMORROW  (WEDNESDAY),  THE  CENTRAL  COAST  SMALL  BUSINESS  DEVELOPMENT  CENTER AT  CABRILLO  COLLEGE  IS  SCHEDULED  TO  PRESENT  SMALL  BUSINESS  SEMINARS  on  4  consecutive  wednesday’s.  THIS  WEEK’S  SEMINAR  IS  TITLED  BASIC  QUICKBOOKS,  NOVEMBER  10TH’s  SEMINAR  IS  TITLED  MARKETING  101,  the  seminar  on  the  17th is  called  business  plan  seminar,  (and  deals  with  how  to  measure business opportunities,   as  well  as  how  to  establish  reasonable  goals  and  objectives)….and  on december  1st,  the  seminar  is  titled  bookkeeeping  101,  (how  to  keep  and  maintain  clear  and   accurate  financial  records,   and  how  to  streamline  the  record-keeping  process.  all  seminars  will  be  held  from  2-4:30  at  the watsonville  main  library at  275  main  street.    for more  information,  or to  register  for  a  seminar,   people  can  go  on-line  to:

A  SANTA  CRUZ  COUNTY  JUDGE  HAS  RULED  THAT  A  CAPITOLA  MAN  SHOULD  STAND  TRIAL.      FEDERICO  “FREDDY”  LOZOYA IS  ACCUSED  OF  SHOOTING  A  MAN,   AND  LEAVING  HIS  BODY  IN  A  CAR  IN  THE  SOQUEL  HIGH  SCHOOL PARKING  LOT.       LOZOYA IS  BELIEVED  TO  HAVE  KILLED  34  YEAR-OLD  JUAN  CARLOS  GARCIA JULY  29TH (IN  LOZOYA’S CLARES  STREET HOME).

MANY  CALIFORNIANS  have  YET  TO  RETURN  THEIR  VOTE-BY-MAIL  BALLOTS.       BECAUSE  OF  THAT,   THE  COUNTING  OF  THOSE BALLOTS  COULD  DELAY  ELECTION  RESULTS  IN  ANY  CLOSE  RACES.       PEOPLE  WHO  STILL  HAVE  THEIR  VOTE-BY-MAIL  BALLOTS,    NEED  TO  RETURN  THEM  TO  A  POLLING  PLACE  TOMORROW,   OR  TO  THEIR  LOCAL  CITY  CLERK’S  OFFICE.
