Register Your Bike 12.28.2020 0610 3 JS

With gift giving season wrapping up, Pacific Grove Police officials are reminding the public that they can register their bicycles they may have recently received or currently own.

The process can be done online with the Pacific Grove Police Department website or directly at their office.

This year, PGPD also reports that over 20 bikes have been turned into their department as found property and only 2 of them have been returned to their owners.

Meanwhile, most local police departments offer a similar bicycle registration service and can be found visiting their respective websites or giving them a call.

Arrest in Hollister 12.28.2020 0540 2 JS

On Christmas Eve, a man was arrested on public intoxication and weapons-related charges.

Prior to the arrest, Hollister Police officers were sent to the 1800 block of Nora Drive after receiving a call about a man lying in the road.

The man was George Anthony Beltran, who was found to be unresponsive. Upon contacting the individual, officers found him to be extremely intoxicated and placed him under arrest.

When officers searched Beltran, an unregistered handgun and two magazines were found.

Beltran was additionally charged with violation of a served criminal protective order and felony possession of a concealed handgun and booked into the San Benito County Jail.

Gift Giveaway Recap 12.28.2020 0520 1 JS

On Thursday, Watsonville Police teamed up with a local nonprofit known as Watsonville NETworX to bring holiday cheer for local farm workers and their children.

Food was also given away as part of this gift distribution.

In a tweet written by Watsonville PD, they stated that “There was nothing better than seeing them smile – behind their masks, of course!”

Small Troop - Big Donations 12-27-20 05:36 S.S.

A local 6-member Girl Scout Troop not only donated 40 gifts to Santa Cops, but donated new bath towels to the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter, made a cash donation to Meals On Wheels, and donated new jackets to victims of the CZU Lightning Complex Fires. All of that from money the 6 members of Santa Cruz Cadette Girls Scout Troop 15102 raised by selling Girl Scout cookies.

The 6 members are: Penellope Lopez, Gabriella Gonzalez-Lopez, Olivia Potes, Nicoya Phillips, Alina Avila-Dillon and Eslit McDow.

2 Suffered Major Inj 12-27-20 05:24 S.S.

2 people were transported to an area hospital after they suffered major injuries. That after the truck they were in went off Felton Empire Road (and fell about 100 feet) Saturday evening. 1 of the 2 injured people was listed in critical condition.
