Pdale Stabber Sought. 01-09-21 11:03 S.S.

The person, who stabbed a 25 year-old man in Prunedale, is still being sought. The alleged attack is said to have taken place around 7 a.m. on Pesante Road last Tuesday. The victim, who was transported to an area hospital for treatment, is expected to survive. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Monterey County Sheriff's office.

Maj Inj DUI Crash 01-09-21 10:36 S.S.

A 55 year-old motorcyclist, who was hit yesterday morning in Soquel, is recovering in a Santa Clara county hospital. He suffered major injuries when Karen Veninga-Zaricor crashed her vehicle into him Head-On on North Rodeo Gulch Drive. She was arrested on D.U.I. charges in connection with suspected drug use.

Serial Child Molester Sentenced. 01-09-21 10:27 S.S.

A convicted serial child molester has been sentenced to 391 years-to-life in prison. 52 year-old David Bloomer was most recently found guilty of 11 felony counts involving a 10 year-old Pacific Grove girl, while he lived in the child's home for 6 weeks in 2019. He was also convicted of similar crimes (but with other children) back in 1995, 2007, and 2008.

Seaside - More Covid-19 Testing Soon 01-09-21 10:14 S.S.

City officials in Seaside are working to open a 2nd Covid-19 testing site. That's because although they have a high rate of infection there, they only have 1 test site. The money to create and staff the new site (for the next 3 months) is from the CARES Act. Some other CARES Act money the city received will be used for food distribution. Later CARES Act funds are expected to be used for rental assistance.

High Surf Advisory - Sat. & Sun. 01-09-21 10:05 S.S.

A High Surf Warning has been issued. It runs from now through 9 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday) night. People can expect waves of 23 - 28 feet at all area beaches, and in excess of 30 feet at some. This also means an increase in the risk of strong Rip Currents and coastal erosion. This warning runs from north of San Francisco, south to the Big Sur Coast. People are strongly encouraged to stay off jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside infrastructure.
