Old -School Handcars Might Return 03-20-21 19:27 S.S.
A local railway, that hasn't been used in years, may soon be in use again....by people operating handcars. That after a southern California family has worked for 3 years to get old-school-styled hand cars ready. As part of that effort, they have leased a 3-mile section of track from the Transportation Agency Of Monterey County. That track is inside Fort Ord Dunes in Marina. Before the hand-cars can be used there though, the tracks will need to be cleared. The owner says he hopes to have his Hand Car Tours available to the public soon.
