Contaminated Soil At Project Site 12-09-20 12:21 S.S.

It’s unclear what will happen to a planned mixed-use affordable housing project slated for the 3.7 acre lot next to the Live Oak Supermarket on Capitola Road. That’s because contaminants have been found in the soil at the site at 1500 Capitola Road. The property is currently pending sale to Midpen Housing....and is designed to include 57 affordable housing units, a Dientes Dental Clinic, a Santa Cruz Community Health facility, a public plaza, and a community garden. People at the State Department Of Finance have gotten more time to review the plans for the project, and any mitigations needed.
