Sea Otter Expansion 11.20.20 6a Ci

A recent study of the California sea otter suggests that if the beloved otter population is going to expand… it must be outside the Monterey Bay.

For the last several years the otter population in the Monterey Bay has stalled at about 3-thousand  because biologists believe they can’t swim past pigeon point in San Mateo due to the abundance of great white sharks.

Researchers are considering a plan to possibly re-locate some of the otters to parts of the San Francisco bay, where they may be able to flourish.
