States Join CA COVID Vaccine Review 10-27-20 16:17 DC
Three Western states have joined California's effort to independently review COVID-19 vaccines that are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The state plans to review the vaccines before making them available across California.
Washington, Oregon, and Nevada have joined California’s Scientific Safety Review Workgroup, Gov. Gavin Newsom said during a briefing Tuesday afternoon.
The news of states that are teaming up with California comes as the state has seen an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations and ICU admissions.
In the past 14 days, California has seen a 4.7% increase in hospitalizations and a 5.9% increase in ICU admissions.
