Containment of the CZU Lightning Complex fire located north of Santa Cruz increased to 84% as of Thursday morning. Highway 1 is open to thru traffic only, no access to roads off of State Route-1
A total of more than 1,100 structures have burned in Santa Cruz County since the fire began Aug. 16. Of those structures, 925 are single-family residences. The fire is among the top 20 most destructive fires in California state history.
An estimated 7,647 structures remain threatened by the flames in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties.
Santa Cruz County has released an interactive map that shows saved, damaged, and destroyed homes from the CZU Lightning Complex.
