Seaside Proposed Fireworks Ban 6.29.2020 1015 js
The city of Seaside is meeting tonight to discuss an urgency ordinance.
The ordinance would ban all fireworks after 10 PM.
The city states that an uptick in incidents regarding illegal fireworks is the reasoning for such an ordinance.
The proposed change would also start an online form for residents to report the use of illegal fireworks and allow the city to enforce the policy with ease.
As part of the online reporting system, $50 could potentially go to residents who report fireworks resulting in citations for the firework use violations.
The special meeting to discuss this firework ban ordinance starts tonight at 5:30 PM and will take place virtually. Join the virtual meeting: https://bit.ly/SeasideYouTube
