Judge Orders Carmel Restaurant to Follow COVID Rules 05-21-20 16:20 DC

A Monterey County judge has granted a temporary restraining order against the Tuck Box restaurant and its owner, Jeffrey LeTowt.

The order demands that the Tuck Box cease and desist from serving people inside, allowing them to eat on the premises, not following the mask order, and not following social distancing requirements.

The Monterey District Attorney’s office argued the restaurant is creating unfair competition under the county’s health order.

Meanwhile, on Thursday afternoon, KION Television News noticed the restaurant was not complying with the TRO. Its owner had not been present for the TRO hearing. What happens next is not clear but could involve law enforcement.
