On Friday, beaches across Santa Cruz county were rather limited with visitors, making for positive signs that the county Shelter in Place order is being complied with.
Additionally, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has announced a new Compliance Contact Team.
The team is a set of Sheriff’s Deputies that roam local neighborhood streets, particularly those along areas that are known to have high tourist traffic.
If individuals are found not to be in compliance with social distancing, or performing essential activities such as actively exercising, they are subject to a $1000 misdemeanor citation.
