Arrests made in Graham Hill Road Homicide

On April 1, 2020 two suspects were arrested for the murder of Santa Cruz County resident Kimberly Smith.

On March 31, deputies responded to a report of an unconscious woman, 55-year-old Kimberly Smith, at a home on the 800 block of Graham Hill Road. Kimberly was deceased when deputies arrived.

Detectives were able to identify two suspects believed to be directly involved in the homicide, 23-year-old Caitlin Crenshaw and 23-year-old Cody Huynh, both transients.

Our Detectives located Huynh in San Bernardino County where he was in jail for unrelated charges. Crenshaw was also located in San Bernardino County in the victim’s car. She was taken into custody without incident. The motive is believed to be robbery.

Detectives are still investigating this case and are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office. Both suspects were brought back to Santa Cruz County and booked on murder and robbery charges. They are being held on no bail.
