UPDATED: Asilomar Houses COVID-Positive Patients 03-26-20 02:59 DC

The California National Guard now says that its members are caring for COVID-positive patients at the Asilomar Hotel & Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove.

While some of the quarantined cruise ship passengers tested negative and have gone home, those who are positive for the virus remain at the state-owned facility.

This is the first time officials have confirmed that Asilomar is housing COVID-19 positive patients from the Grand Princess Cruise Ship.

Last week, Governor Gavin Newsom said guardsmen would be pressed into service, mostly assisting with food distribution. Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties have had troops assigned.
