TCAA Open House Recap 2.14.2020 0930 js

An open house for shaping the transportation vision of the railroad line in Santa Cruz Couty took place this week in Live Oak and Watsonville.

Luis Mendez, Deputy Director for the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission discussed the recap in an interview with KSCO.

In the interview, Mendez stated that over 250 people were in attendance between the two workshops, the input gathered at these meetings will help the RTC determine what the “locally preferred” alternative of transportation is desired for implementation on the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line.

Additionally, Mendez mentioned that a demonstration of a streetcar will be going live in October between Capitola and the Boardwalk.

The RTC is still looking for community input with a survey posted online for the next couple of months.
