Salinas officer injured when suspect rammed patrol car 02-13-20 14:53 DC

A Salinas police officer was treated and released after a vehicle chase suspect rammed his patrol car. The officer was not identified but the driver who struck his car was arrested.

35-year-old Timothy Callahan was a wanted man when he did not stop for police Wednesday afternoon. The chase that ensued reached 80 MPH before it was called off at Stockton Street for safety reasons.

Callahan later rammed the patrol car and was taken into custody. He faces outstanding felony warrants and a new charge of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
