Santa Cruz County officials say PG&E may soon begin restoring power to areas affected by the shutdown. County spokesman Jason Hoppin told reporters that “low-lying” portions of the county could have power restored by late today.
Residents of the Santa Cruz mountains may expect to see low-flying helicopters doing required inspections before their power can be restored. Hoppin said he believes that once the inspections begin that power should be restored within 48 hours.
