In a 6-1 vote, Santa Cruz City Council members voted to add a curfew for Santa Cruz Main Beach. This vote was intended to end homeless camping on the beach….where more than a dozen tents are currently set up. Although the “dry sand” portion of Main Beach will be closed from midnight to 1 hour before sunrise….the “wet sand” portion will remain open 24 hours a day. This policy will automatically “sunset” 6 months from today.
