Including the 10 illegal growing operations “discovered” last week in the Boulder Creek area, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has visited 53 illegal grows this year. They say they are not doing this to make arrests, rather, they are trying to get the growers to come into compliance with current regulations. Unpaid taxes are expected to be recouped for the unregulated crops. The Cannabis Licensing Office has authorized 72 cultivation and manufacturing cannabis operations in the county, and hopes to license more.
