2 elementary schools, and a childcare center, were placed on lockdown this afternoon as seaside police officers looked for a shooter. That after a 1:20 p.m. fatal shooting on Valmar Court in Seaside. The shooter was seen running southbound towards Sonoma Avenue. The schools were Highland Elementary School, Doctor Martin Luther King Junior School Of The Arts, and The Seaside Child Development Center.
Earlier today, Soquel Elementary School was placed on lockdown for about 15 minutes after an alarm went off at a nearby financial institution.
