Fire crews responded to several small fires bordering Highway 101 through Salinas during the Monday afternoon commute. Authorities say the fires broke out at about 4:30 p-m south of Salinas. The situation was under control by 5 p-m. Officials are looking for an SUV they believe responsible for the fires.
