Central coast residents may notice a helicopter hovering overhead with a weird looking loop dangling from it.
It’s actually a groundwater study. The loop generates a magnetic field that is able to detect fresh water and salt water below the surface. The electrical currant is also able to determine if there’s been salt water intrusion.
A groundwater mapping study was last completed in 20-17.
