A Watsonville patrol officer arrested a man with a fully automatic handgun on Thursday. The officer was doing a check of the Green Valley Cinema parking lot where he came across a group of loiterers. When the officer confronted the group, 19 year old Robert Bengard threw something behind a dumpster. He was detained and officers found a loaded, glock handgun behing the dumpster. Bengard was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail for possession of a loaded machine gun.
