Santa Cruz City Council members have chosen Lot 24 (between Washington and Chestnut Streets) as the new location for the Safe Sleeping And Storage site that will replace, in part, the Ross Homeless Encampment near the Gateway Shopping Center in Santa Cruz. The homeless encampment is slated to close April 17th. Up to 50 people will be able to use Lot 24, and the city hopes to re-open the site at 1220 River Street as well.
