Authorities are warning Carmel-by-the-Sea residents of unlicensed contractors targeting the elderly. The Police Officers’ Association issued a warning about possible Irish travelers soliciting construction work. The warning was issued in the aftermath of several reports of men with Irish accents soliciting roof and driveway repairs. Officials say to make sure to obtain proper permits and hire only licensed contractors.
