The Bureau Of Land Management plans to start their formal planning process this coming spring, for the Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument near Davenport. To that end they are holding several workshops…with the next one coming up this Thursday evening. Most of the 58-hundred acres of the monument are between highway 1 and 2 miles inland….. and between Laguna and Scott Creeks. Although it’s known that commercial logging and dirt-biking are off the table, it’s unclear what other activities will, or won’t, be allowed there. The Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument is the only substantial piece of federally-operated land in Santa Cruz County. This Thursday’s meeting is scheduled to be held from 5-7 p.m. at Bonny Doon Elementary School.
