In state news, two nuns are being investigated for embezzling a large amount of money from the Southern California Catholic school where they worked for decades. Sister Mary Margaret Kreuper was principal of Saint James Catholic School in Redondo Beach. Sister Lana Chang taught eighth grade there, the pair are accused of using funds to pay for gambling trips to Las Vegas casinos. The embezzlement amount is being calculated, but appears to have been happening for about 10 years. An investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
