Salinas Neighbors Upset With Homeless Plan 12-10-18 07:30

Some residents of Salinas’ Creekbridge neighborhood in Salinas are upset by city plans for homeless facilities near their homes. The members of Creekbridge United, held a protest Saturday to voice their concerns.

In October, the Salinas City Council voted 6 to 1, in favor of the proposal, which includes two facilities. The city said the 855 East Laurel Drive location would serve as homeless shelter, and that 1220 Natividad Road would serve as transitional housing.

The neighbors said this fight is over whether the new facilities are the best option for homeless people in Salinas.
