The groundbreaking has been announced for the first segment of the Coastal Rail Trail in Santa Cruz. The 32-mile long (braided bicycle-pedestrian network is a part of the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission’s Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network Master Plan. The public event is slated to take place at the West Base of the San Lorenzo River Railroad Trestle Bridge on January 10th from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.
People who attend this event may park for free in the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s River Parking Lot; and free bicycle valet parking will be hosted by Bike Santa Cruz County.
